National Night Out 2026 will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is an annual event to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Join the rest of the nation in getting to know your neighbors, and “Give crime and drugs a going away party”! If you plan to close your street for National Night Out, remember that barricades are required for street closures, at your cost. Safe T Lite will rent barricades to National Night Out participants for $45 plus tax (which includes 4 lighted, 4 non-lighted and two “road closed” signs). A credit card deposit of $150.00 is required with the rental, which will be refunded when the barricades are returned. Safe T Lite is located at 1051 N. Emerald and their contact number is 209-522-8913. (Renter is responsible for lost/stolen property. You must order 2 week prior to National Night Out and barricades must be picked up no later then 4:00 p.m. the day before National Night Out. Barricades available while supplies last, order soon.

We do not guarantee you will receive a visit due to the large number of parties. The focus of National Night Out is to get together with your neighbors and create lasting relationships!

The city requires a street closure permit, at no charge. Be sure to fill out the street closure permit below and submit with your entry form. Due to budget constraints, you are responsible to provide your own barricades.
Modesto Municipal Code § 3-2.1705 provides that:
Permittee shall be required to: Adequately close the permitted streets with barricades and promptly remove barricades.
