Title II Compliance
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) of 1990, the Fair Employment & Housing Act (“FEHA”), the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended), Government Code section 11135 and other applicable codes, the City of Modesto (“City”) will not discriminate against individuals on the basis of disability in the City’s services, programs, or activities. National Night Out 2026 will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is an annual event to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Join the rest of the nation in getting to know your neighbors, and “Give crime and drugs a going away party”! If you plan to close your street for National Night Out, remember that barricades are required for street closures, at your cost. Safe T Lite will rent barricades to National Night Out participants for $45 plus tax (which includes 4 lighted, 4 non-lighted and two “road closed” signs). A credit card deposit of $150.00 is required with the rental, which will be refunded when the barricades are returned. Safe T Lite is located at 1051 N. Emerald and their contact number is 209-522-8913. (Renter is responsible for lost/stolen property. You must order 2 week prior to National Night Out and barricades must be picked up no later then 4:00 p.m. the day before National Night Out. Barricades available while supplies last, order soon.

Barricades are required for closure at your expense.

For street closures, a minimum of four (4) barricades (lighted if night event) are required for each closure point.

No jump houses or any type of play equipment shall be set up on the City street.

In the event of an emergency, emergency vehicles must be able to get through the area (20 foot cleared area).

Notify all neighbors of street closed.
Modesto Municipal Code § 3-2.1705 provides that:
Permittee, its successors and its assigns, during the term of the permit, shall indemnify and save the City harmless of and from all damages, costs, and charges of any kind or character arising out of or relating thereto, or in any way connected with the exercise of the rights granted by the permit.
Permittee, its successors and assigns, shall comply with all laws of the City.
Permittee, its successors and assigns, as its own cost and expense, shall defend any and all lawsuits, if any arising out of or in anyway connected with the exercise of the rights granted by the permit.
Permittee shall be required to: Adequately close the permitted streets with barricades and promptly remove barricades.
