Aviation and Airport Usage
Modesto City-County Airport's primary activity is general aviation in nature and the airport is home base for approximately 200 general aviation aircraft, which include Corporate Jets, Twin and Single Engine Aircraft, Helicopters, and Ultralights.

The Commemorative Air Force, Modesto Airport Pilots Association, and Civil Air Patrol are organizations based at the airport. Each group offers local pilots and the public an opportunity to interact with the aviation community at Modesto Airport.
Aircraft and Flight Service Information
Aircraft and flight services provided at Modesto Airport consist of: Major and minor aircraft frame and mechanical repairs, Avionics and 24-hour fuel service. Fuel service can be obtained from a line truck, or an owner can fuel their aircraft using the self-fueling pumps. Airport Users can call Modesto Jet Center for services at 209-577-4654.

Flight Training
L& J Aviation, located in the Terminal building, is the flight school located at the Modesto Airport.

Pilot Lounge
On the General Aviation side of the airfield (southwest side), a pilot's lounge is located in the building nearest the flag pole. Inside the Pilot's lounge is an area for pilots to sit, utilize the WiFi and restrooms. If you are exiting the airfield via the pedestrian gate, be sure to record the gate’s cipher lock combination so that you can regain entry to the airport on your return.
Transient Aircraft Parking
Visiting pilots will find aircraft parking areas on the southwest and northeast sides of the airport. Pavement strength on the southwest apron (General Aviation side) are for aircraft weighing less than 12,500 pounds.
Pilots of large aircraft, those weighing more than 12,500 pounds, must park on the northeast aircraft ramp located between the Tower and the Terminal. Do not attempt to exit the airfield through the airlines restricted area at the terminal. You may exit the airfield via a pedestrian gate, located near the tie downs. Before exiting, be sure to record the cipher lock combination for re-entry. You may obtain ground transportation (Avis-Budget, and taxis) inside the terminal.
Aircraft parking overnight are charged a parking fee as follows:
- Aircraft less than 12,500 pounds maximum certificated gross landing weight: $9.00 per day
- Aircraft more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificated gross landing weight: $17.00 per day
Aircraft Hangars
Modesto City-County Airport leases 133 aircraft t-hangars that are located on the southwest side of the airport. Hangar size varies from approximately 872 square feet to 1833 square feet with differing dimensions. Anyone interested in submitting an application to lease a hangar may view the T-Hangar Use Policy (PDF) and download an application (PDF) from this site, which can then be submitted to the Airport Administration Office. Find approximate hangar square footages (PDF), door height, etc.
End Units in hangars A through F provide aircraft owners more space.
In addition to hangars, there are single-engine and twin-engine aircraft tie-downs available for a reasonable monthly lease rate or on a day-by-day basis.
Aircraft and Auto Insurance Requirements
The City of Modesto requires all airport tenants to provide and maintain appropriate insurances at all times. Insurance certificates must name the City of Modesto as an additional insured, and state that the insurance carrier will give the City 30-days advance notice when coverage is either changed or cancelled. Continued Airport privileges are contingent upon maintaining proof of appropriate coverage.
Aircraft Insurance Requirements
The minimum required insurance coverage is $1,000,000 bodily injury and $300,000 for property damage, or $1,000,000 combined single limit.
Auto (Vehicle) Insurance Requirements
The minimum required insurance coverage is $300,000 bodily injury and $100,000 for property damage, or $300,000 combined single limit.
