The City’s storm drainage system is designed to manage storm water runoff, while meeting Federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater permit, which requires the City to maintain a comprehensive inventory, monitoring, and management program to reduce the discharge of pollutants in stormwater runoff to receiving waters.
The City of Modesto domestic water system supplies water to communities in the surrounding region including Del Rio, Salida, Empire, Grayson, and small portions of Ceres and Turlock.
Responsible for maintaining the City’s sanitary sewer system, including the treatment process, the collection of wastewater and storm drain run off, and assuring safe discharge of treated water returning to the San Joaquin River.
