Finance Department - Business License General Information
When a customer updates their Business address, they will need to fill out a Notice of Information Change Form (PDF). If the business has moved to a residential address, a Home Business Permit and Agreement (PDF) is also required.
If the business will still be inside the city limits, there is a five dollar ($5) fee for changing the Business address. There is no fee for the Business address change if moving outside the city limits.
Business mailing addresses can be changed by contacting the City of Modesto Business License division at 209-577-5389.

Closing Your Business
To close your license, a final Declaration of Gross Receipts form is required to be filed and all taxes and license fees paid. Please complete the Declaration of Closure of Business Form found below to notify us of your account closure.
