[ARCHIVED] Stanislaus Community System of Care Action Collaborative meeting on Thursday, August 24, 2017

Focus on Prevention

Hello all:

We are writing to invite you to attend a 1/2-day gathering on Thursday, August 24th from 9:00 - 12:00 Noon. The purpose of the gathering is to catch everyone up on the developments of the past several months in the emerging movement to reduce and prevent homelessness, and to map the streams of work and projects that will be developing in the coming months into next year.

You can RSVP here: https://csoc.eventbrite.com

You are receiving this email because you have been involved in one or more of the multiple groups working to address homelessness, including the Focus on Prevention Homelessness Action Council, the Continuum of Care Executive Committee and/or the Continuum of Care Collaborative, and others.

Most of you know that we have merged these multiple structures into two related bodies:

  • A Community System of Care (CSOC) Leadership Council, the body that represents the formal decision-making authority for the HUD Continuum of Care funding, and coordinates decisions across multiple funding streams in accordance with the larger vision of the movement to reduce and prevent homelessness in partnership with the Focus on Prevention Stewardship Council; and
  • A CSOC Action Collaborative, the larger group of providers, advocates, people with lived experience, and representatives across all 10 Focus on Prevention sectors who are taking action to help build the Community System of Care and implement the other strategies outlined in our common agenda.

The gathering on August 24th is for this larger Action Collaborative. We hope you will be able to join us in this meeting to get caught up and begin organizing for the next level work to reduce and prevent homelessness across our county.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Francine DiCiano

Chair • Community System of Care Leadership Council

Kathy Harwell
