Did you know that one in four people know someone who has drowned? Help prevent drowning deaths by training to become a certified Lifeguard! The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department offers American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Title 22 Certification courses! These classes teach you everything you need to succeed as a lifeguard. Successful completion will guarantee you 2 years in the following certifications: Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for the Professional Rescuer, and Title 22 (Basic Medical Response). Participants must take a pretest to qualify for this course. No refunds will be given if pretest is failed. Lifeguard Training and Title 22 Course (Basic Medical Response) is for students 15 and up and is held at Johansen High School Pool, 601 Norseman Avenue. There are 2 sessions of classes:Session 1: February 24-March 5, held over 2 weekends. Fridays 5:00-:00pm and Sat/Sun 9:00am-3:00pm. This session includes 6 classes and cost is $300.
Session 2: March 20-March 24 Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:30pm. this session is 5 classes and cost is $300.
