The City of Modesto seeks one public member to join the Audit Committee.  Be the change you want to see.  Serve your community on the Audit Committee.  

In November of 2022, a ballot initiative called Measure G, the City Charter Amendments Measure, was passed by voters. A Key component of Measure G was the creation of a permanent audit committee.

The state mandated a 10-year review of the City’s Charter to promote efficiency and transparency.  Measure G supports this state mandate by using the Audit Committee to advise the City Council on matters related to the City Auditor’s work, the City’s financial statements, and other types of audits.

Additional ballot language included forming the committee with membership to include the Mayor, two City Council members, and two public members.  The public members need to be residents of Modesto with at least two years of experience in financial or performance auditing.  

The City of Modesto Audit Committee has an opening for one public member.
