Leisure Bucks Financial Assistance Program

About the Program

Leisure Bucks is a financial assistance program providing qualified applicants of all ages up to $100 to use towards individual recreation programs provided by the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department. Funds are available July 1st through June 30th. Any unused funds will be forfeited. Recipients are responsible for remaining costs after the Leisure Bucks have been used.

This program is funded by proceeds from the Modesto Spirit of Giving 5k Run and Breakfast with Santa Fundraiser events held each year.

Qualifications

Recipients must be meet all qualification criteria in order to qualify. Verifying documentation is required.

  • Current Modesto resident
  • Meet current year HUD Guideline income requirements OR be enrolled in an accepted financial assistance program

Qualifying Documents

You must be a Modesto resident with a valid driver's license or Identification and a Utility bill dated within 6 months to qualify.

Proof of participation in a Financial Assistance Program (FAP) or HUD Notice of Action or Verification of Benefits within 6 months of applying is required. Examples:

  • CARE Discount (Utility Bill)
  • CalWorks
  • CalFresh
  • Medi-Cal
  • WIC
  • SPP
  • SSI

Supporting Documents

Family applications require proof of Household.  A Spouse can be verified using a Utility Bill, FAP or HUD doucmentation. A Child can be verified with proof of legal guardianship using documents such as: 1040 Tax Return or 4506 Tax Form.
