Park Security Lighting at J.M. Pike Park

Brighter Safer Parks

Big improvements are coming to three City of Modesto neighborhood parks as City Council approves the replacement of outdated lighting with brighter, more reliable fixtures to improve safety and visibility. This project includes park security light upgrades at Muncy, Riverside and Sutter Parks, funded by Measure H as part of the City’s long-term plan to address maintenance needs across the park system.

These ongoing efforts are critical to increasing safety and reducing vandalism in our community, while also lowering long-term energy and maintenance costs. By continuing to invest in park security lighting, the City is reinforcing its commitment to enhancing quality of life, creating safer and welcoming spaces for families and neighbors to gather.
