AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN SURVEY

The American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law in March of 2021, is one of the federal government’s responses to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The plan has three main goals:

  1. Mount a national vaccination program, contain COVID-19, and safely reopen schools.
  2. Deliver immediate relief to American families bearing the brunt of this crisis.
  3. Support communities that are struggling in the wake of COVID-19.

As part of the third goal of the American Rescue Plan Act, the plan provides critical support to state, local, territorial, and Tribal governments to ensure that they are in a position to keep front line public workers on the job and paid, while also effectively distributing the vaccine, scaling testing, and maintaining other vital services. The City of Modesto was granted $45.89 million in American Rescue Plan funds that are delivered in two installments.
