Modesto Area Express (MAX) recently launched a new WiFi system on all of its commuter buses. All BART Express and ACE Express buses now offer free WiFi for all passengers. Buses now feature free wireless internet service to provide passengers the ability to stay connected on the move. Riders on BART Express and ACE can get work done, check email, or catch up on news and entertainment.
The commuter buses also added new bike racks to allow more commuters to travel with their bicycles. The WiFi system and bike racks will provide additional conveniences for passengers, adding to the ease of commuting by bus. Additional perks for all MAX commuter buses include free parking at departure locations in Modesto and comfortable high back, reclining seats.
Providing passenger comfort is a key component of quality public transportation systems. These improvements are the next steps in improving the MAX commuter system, and MAX hopes to entice more Modesto residents to get out of their car and utilize BART or ACE for their commute.
The BART Commuter Express offers two daily roundtrip routes each weekday in the morning and evening to the Dublin-Pleasanton BART station. The ACE Commuter Express provides several daily roundtrip routes each weekday in the morning and evening to the Lathrop/Manteca train station.
