Airport Advisory Committee

The Airport Advisory Committee serves as an advisory body on policy matters relating to the operation, management and planning for the Modesto City-County Airport.

Blight Abatement Advisory Committee

The Blight Abatement Advisory Committee serves as an advisory body to the Modesto City Council on blight-related issues, beautification efforts, and public-private partnerships for blight abatement.

Board of Building Appeals

The Board of Building Appeals' primary responsibility is to hear appeals from any person questioning an order of the City's Chief Building Official related to building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, dangerous building or housing codes.

Board of Zoning Adjustment

The primary responsibility of the Board of Zoning Adjustment is to uphold the integrity of zoning regulations and the Modesto General Plan. The 7-member board, appointed by the City Council, makes decisions on applications for conditional use permits, variances, and hears appeals concerning decisions made by the Community and Economic Development Department and Planning Division staff.

Charter Review Committee

The Charter Review Committee reviews Modesto’s City Charter, to ensure it provides the best organization, powers, and functions and essential procedures for the best possible City government.

Citizens' Districting Commission

The Citizens’ Districting Commission invites citizen participation in their recommendations for reviewing and approving proposed draft plans for the City of Modesto Council District Map.

Citizens Housing & Community Development Committee

The Citizens Housing and Community Development Committee provides overall review of the City's HUD funds.

Citizen's Salary Setting Commission

The function of the Citizen's Salary Setting Commission is to recommend compensation for the Mayor and members of the City Council, pursuant to Modesto Municipal Code Section 703(b).

Citizens' Transportation Sales Tax Commission

The mission of the Public Events Advisory Committee shall be to advise and assist the Modesto Convention and Visitors' Bureau in the development of marketing and act in an advisory capacity to the city administrative staff and the City Council in making recommendations for approval of special events and programs.
