Volunteer

You Can Make a Difference!

We do better when we do things together! The volunteer opportunities in the City of Modesto are endless. Whether you want to help out by participating in a planting day at the Tuolumne River Regional Park, your service club wants to raise money for a new play structure in a neighborhood park, or you want to donate your time to a special event, you can partner with the City and together we can do great things!

To become a City of Modesto volunteer, a Volunteer Application and Volunteer Waiver & Release Agreement must be turned in to Heather Grigsby, Volunteer Coordinator with the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department.  Print the appropriate forms, complete all of the information and provide your signature where necessary.

The City is currently working on developing a list of special one-day volunteer opportunities.  Check back often to find out about upcoming events and programs that could use your help.

In addition to many special volunteer opportunities, the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department offers the following ongoing volunteer opportunities.  These projects foster community ownership of parks and facilities and often expedite the development of projects that are not provided for in the annual budget.

For additional information, or for other volunteer ideas, please contact Heather Grigsby at (209) 577-5445 or hgrigsby@modestogov.com.
