Amgen Tour of California – The Amgen Tour of California is a nine-day cycling road race that runs from northern to southern California. The race features 128 cyclists and 16 of the top pro teams from around the world. For more information, click here.

Earth Day in the Park – Earth Day in the Park is one of Modesto’s largest annual events, with upwards of 15,000 in attendance, weather permitting. The event takes place in Graceada Park and offers approximately 90 vendor booths with a variety of earth friendly products, services and resources as well as free entertainment and family fun. National Trails Day – Founded by the American Hiking Society, National Trails Day is an opportunity to celebrate trails, thank trail maintainers and volunteers and learn about and enjoy the many health benefits trails provide. For more information, click here.

Holiday Parade – The annual Celebration of Lights Holiday Parade and Downtown Extravaganza occurs the first Saturday of December in downtown Modesto. Festivities include the Celebration of Lights Parade, craft fair, traditional Dickens Faire and Farmer’s Market. For more information, click here.

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony – Modesto's official Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony is held the Thursday before the Celebration of Lights Holiday Parade and Downtown Extravaganza. Santa, the Mayor, and other city officials are on hand for the festivities, with Santa and the Mayor having the honor of "flipping the switch" that will light up the tree.
