TRAFFIC IMPACT REPORT

August 22, 2014

PROJECT: Virginia Corridor Phase 6

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by the end of August.

IMPACT: The south sidewalk of Woodrow Avenue will be closed to pedestrians. The contractor has closed the sidewalk on the north side of Rumble Road. Sidewalk closed signs are in place at the College Avenue crosswalk and Yukon Drive for pedestrians. A temporary fence has been installed along the Corridor. The travel ways down the Corridor will be permanently blocked. Therell be minor traffic control measures implemented on Bowen Avenue, Leveland Lane, West Rumble Road and Woodrow Avenue. Expect periodic lane closures using cones, construction signs and road closures. Motorists are requested to travel slowly through the construction zones and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Roselle Avenue and Merle Avenue Intersection Project

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by the end of August 2014.

IMPACT: Traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction. Motorists are requested to travel slowly through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Briggsmore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by September 19th, 2014.

IMPACT: Briggsmore Avenue from Sisk Road to 500 West of McHenry Avenue will be restricted with alternating lane closures in place. Motorists are requested to travel slowly through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Construction of Right Turn Lane Eastbound Bangs Avenue to Southbound Prescott Road

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by the end of September 2014.

IMPACT: Motorists are requested to drive slowly through the construction zone. Traffic will be impacted. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Area 2 Storm Drain Cross Connection Removal Project

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by the end of August 2014.

IMPACT: Sections of Carver Road will be closed from Orangeburg Avenue to Roseburg Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for Pipeline Construction. There will be some ongoing lane closures on Orangeburg Avenue between Grape Avenue to Del Vale Avenue. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Street Closure for Tree Trimming

STATUS: Work is in progress.

IMPACT:

AREA 1: Downtown Area 7/17/14 9/1/14 Forestry crews will be working the Downtown Area. Crews will be barricading off areas normally used for parking along streets to ensure access to the trees for service. Barricades will be removed at night to ensure parking for residents. Please do not move cones. Forestry crews will work with businesses as much as possible to keep driveways open and parking accessible for patrons. Motorists are requested to watch for crews working and drive slowly through cone zones. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

AREA 2: Yosemite Area 8/25/14 9/12/14 Forestry crews will be working on Yosemite Boulevard. Crews will be starting at Yosemite Meadows Drive and moving west to D Street. We will be closing the right hand lane while work is performed. Forestry crews will then work from D Street to Empire Avenue. We will be closing the right hand lane while work is performed. Forestry crews will work with businesses as much as possible to keep driveways open and parking accessible for patrons. Motorists are requested to watch for crews working and drive slowly through cone zones. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible. PROJECT: Kiernan Avenue Water Main Replacement

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by October.

IMPACT: Most of the work will be done at night with a few day shifts. The project goes from approximately, 500 feet south on Sisk Road to Kiernan Avenue. Then west on Kiernan Avenue to opposite side of Hwy 99 ending at Elm Street and Broadway Avenue. There will be lane closures. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: State Route 99/Pelandale Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by 2017.

8/25/14 - 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. SR 99 SB Off Ramp Closure Detour Notification: Please be advised that the northbound and southbound on-ramps to SR 99 from Pelandale Avenue are closed. Please use Kiernan Avenue interchange or the Standiford Avenue interchange to access SR 99. The railroad crossing from Dakota Avenue, northbound and southbound, is closed while the temporary SB on-ramp is in operation. The Portion of Salida Boulevard from the Super 8 Motel south is now a one-way street leading to the temporary SB on-ramp. Please proceed south to Beckwith Road or north to Kiernan Avenue to access points east of SR 99.

Traffic Advisory: The Pelandale Avenue/Sisk Road intersection is under traffic control in which intersection configuration has been modified. Construction Advisory: Please be advised that the Contractor will be continuing to drive piles for the new bridge. This construction activity will likely produce noise and ground vibration.

PROJECT: Emerald Trunk Sewer Relief Project

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by mid-December.

IMPACT: Construction is currently between the intersection of Shirley Court (West) and Carpenter Road for the next few weeks. The contractor has temporarily stopped the installation of 30 sewer pipe East of Shirley Court (West), along Elm Avenue, towards Carpenter Road to the East. They have completed micro-tunneling across Carpenter Road and the manholes at Carpenter Road and Elm Avenue, West & East respectively. They have set up signs for road closure with detour at Carpenter Road & Elm Avenue. Traffic continues to be detoured from Rosemore Avenue to Elm Avenue (Heading East) and Carpenter Road and Elm Avenue (Exit Only). City Water crews have been working near the intersection of Elm Avenue and Emerald Avenue, to relocate an existing water main. The contractor has closed the intersection of Elm Avenue and Emerald Avenue and are detouring traffic around to allow for the excavation of a large junction structure in the intersection. This activity will continue for the next two months or so, through the months of August and September. The contractor has set up a road closure and detour north of Kansas Avenue on Emerald Avenue for structure excavation. They are preparing to construct a large junction structure between Emerald Avenue and H-99. This activity will continue for the next two months or so, through the months of August and September. Local residents/businesses and construction traffic will be permitted and all others are encouraged to obey posted detours.

PROJECT: Oakdale Road Paving Project

STATUS: Work will start on August 25th - August 28th

IMPACT: Oakdale Road from Claratina Avenue to Mable Avenue will have temporary lane closers for asphalt paving. Eastbound Claratina Avenue will be closed to thru traffic. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Upgrade Traffic Signals 2010

STATUS: Work will begin on Monday, August 25th. Project completion is expected by December 2014.

IMPACT: There will be lane closures on H Street between 17th Street and 10th Street. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.
