Modesto Area Express (MAX) Announces Service Improvements

Modesto AREA EXPRESS (MAX)Service Improvements

Selected Modesto Area Express (MAX) routes and schedules will change effective Sunday, July 6, 2014. The changes will improve on-time performance system wide and increase capacity on some heavily used routes. The changes are fully detailed in Ride Guides now available on all MAX buses, at MAX pass outlets and at many other locations in Modesto. The changes are briefly described as follows:

New Service:

Route 21RX
This is a new, first-ever Express Route for MAX. Riders can travel the route between Paradise Road and Robertson Road and the Downtown Transportation Center with only four (4) stops along the way.

Route 22 on Saturday
Service on Saturday will run every 30 minutes, instead of the current 60 minutes, on this heavily used route that connects the Downtown Transportation Center with Vintage Faire Mall via McHenry Ave and Standiford Ave.

President’s Day
For the first time ever, MAX will operate on President’s Day in 2015. The system will operate on a schedule that is the same as it operates on Saturdays.

Schedule Changes:

Routes 22, 28 and 32
Routes 22, 28 and 32 will leave stops about 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the current schedules.  Route 33 will have a 15 minute change on the Saturday schedule.

Routes 24, 25, 30, 31, 36, 37, 41 &42
These routes will have many small schedule changes, most of which are less than 5 minutes.

Additional information regarding these changes, including full schedules and route maps, is available online at ModestoAreaExpress.com. Additional information may also be obtained by calling MAX Customer Service at 521-1274.
