Residential: New Single-Story Homes

Dept/Div. Contact:  Building Safety - (209) 577-5232

•  •  •

Description:  Developers who build four or more homes based on one plan, may apply for a Residential Master Plan. Before beginning development in any residential subdivision, there are several steps a developer will need to take to make sure the new home will be in compliance with local regulations regarding land and construction. Once the tentative subdivision map has been approved, 20% or 7 of the lots, whichever is less, may be built. After a subdivision map is recorded, a developer may apply for some or all of the lots in a subdivision.

Examples: You will need to make sure that the lot you are intending to build on is appropriate for a two-storied home based on zoning and other requirements.
