CEDD - Code Enforcement Cases

Performance Measure

Resolve Code Enforcement cases with 6 months

Target

10% increase to 70% of cases

Analysis of Performance*

This metric measures how quickly complaints are brought to resolution.  Resolution largely depends on the owners willingness to comply.  If the owner does not comply due process must be followed which takes weeks and sometimes months depending the type of violation. Less critical complaints such as weeds, trash debris and vacant or unsecured buildings can be abated rather quickly with due process.

Metric Definition*

Property and Building Maintenance Violations include but not limited to: trash and debris, unsafe buildings, weeds, etc.

Importance*

Resolution of code violations helps the City ensure buildings and properties are safe as well as enhances the quality of our community, which will then be more attractive to residents, visitors and businesses.

Impact on Performance*

Medium - Neighborhood Preservation provides services and deploys strategies to ensure property owners are maintaining their properties to minimum standards.  Blight reduction has a tendency to be infectious in neighborhoods.  Once regulations are enforced citizens tend to show more pride in their neighborhoods.
